v All Saturday (Star S/Z) practices are for Big Dippers ONLY!
v Saturday practices will be available (occasionally) for Big Dippers and Senior/HS Swimmers but cannot be used to replace a missed practice! For the Star Groups, there will be a sign-up prior to each scheduled Saturday morning practice. If attending, you MUST sign-up by Thursday, prior to Saturday! There will need to be a minimum of 6-8 swimmers signed up by Thursday for the practice to occur.
v Due to the limited pool time for the star(z) group, morning practices will be available from October until the end of January for those who wish to exercise this option. However, the following conditions apply:
v Must be a Big Dipper.
v Must meet evening practice requirements.
v Must sign-up 1 week in advance.
v Must have consistent weekly attendance.
v 11 year olds may attend once/week; 12 & Overs may attend twice/week.
v Must have all Cs or above on the prior report card or current grade check.
v The time listed above is when stretching begins and each group should be on deck at that time or you will not practice. However, NO ONE needs to be in the locker room more than 5-10 minutes before the start of practice.
v Exceptions: from November to February evening practices will be altered on days when there are High School meets to the following:
· Home Meets: No Practice/Rescheduled Practice
· Away Meets: Check practice schedule
v This is only a guideline, as times and dates may change due to various reasons. However, each installment period Coach Keller will make-up the practice schedule and it will be handed out when club dues are paid. For those who pay seasonal dues, the schedule will be placed in your NASA folder. Please follow the printed schedule carefully!!!
v The Pre-Competitive Club will have a mid-season option available Thursday, December 11th. They may choose to continue, discontinue, or move to Developmental with coach approval.
v Year Round Programming will be available this year by picking up information about the summer season at the winter awards celebration. If option exercised, then no summer meeting/sign-up required!
Developmental Use your discretion
Little Dippers 3 out of 4 practices weekly
Pre-Big Dippers 3 out of 4 practices weekly
Big Dippers 4 out of 4-5/6 practices weekly
Senior ALL practices are required!
* If you cannot meet the above number of required practices, you will be moved down a group so requirements can be made. This is due to training philosophy and reaping maximum benefits from the program. If there is a problem meeting these (i.e. vacations) then please see Coach Keller, Coach Spilman or Coach Thomas.
SWIM INVITATIONALS & PARENT VOLUNTEERS
Meet registration for invitationals are due back on Monday, October 6th during the official registration. Please be aware that this schedule can change at any time due to cancellations or additions!
Also, we require that each parent (except Pre-Competitive), as a part of the NASA Club, volunteer to work at meets, which includes our winter fund-raising invitational meets. For those just joining the program, it is REQUIRED that you attend our Level IV timers clinic to help introduce this part of the program and to learn a very simple but valuable skill. This will be held on Monday, October 6th from 6-6:40 or 6:50-7:30p.m. at the pool. We will then assign families to time for one session of a meet at some time. This information will be sent via e-mail blasts throughout the season prior to the meet. So, please help us run efficient meets, especially the NASA Sprint Meet and Winter Classic Meet.
Also, for those interested in becoming a Level II or III official, NASA has an incentive program available. When you complete your certification process prior to beginning as an official, NASA will purchase an official's shirt for you free of charge to wear when you are officiating. There will be an official's clinic available this fall for those of you who are interested and we will get dates/times to you! Let Coach Keller or Jessica Burbrink know if you are interested!!!
